Juvederm Vollure XC & Volbella XC

Non-Surgical Aesthetician / August 2, 2017

At evolv Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics, we have seen a growing interest by patients of all ages and in men as well as women, for non-surgical options to reduce the signs of aging and obtain safe, natural and balanced results.

One of the most popular choices for restoring youthful features in the face is the use of natural injectable fillers in Toledo to replace volume and reduce wrinkles in the skin and deeper tissues. evolv is quite excited to be one of the first medical practices in the region to introduce the recently approved fillers Juvederm Vollure and Juvederm Volbella from Allergan Medical for a longer lasting restoration of facial volume and wrinkle reduction.

Cosmetic or aesthetic enhancement with injectable fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Belotero, Sculptra) and neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) have experienced a dramatic recent increase and improvement in safety, technology and, most importantly, natural appearing and long lasting results. Nearly 7 million injections were given in the U.S. last year which is a 40% increase from just 5 years ago.  Combining a personalized medical skin care regimen along with the optimal injectable fillers and neuromodulators can result in more natural appearing rejuvenation without the downtime, higher costs, and risks associated with some other traditional options.

Juvederm Vollure and Juvederm Volbella are the most recent additions to use ‘Vycross’ technology introduced by Allergan Medical, which is well known in aesthetics for many other popular products such as Botox and Latisse. Allergan’s Vycross technology is a proprietary linking process that allows the natural hyaluronic sugar in the injectable product to create long lasting volume replacement for wrinkle reduction and soft tissue volume replacement.  Vycross technology was first introduced with Allergan’s Voluma which has found great success in providing deep volume replacement for the cheeks and has been proven in clinical studies to last up to 2 years.

What is in the Juvederm filler products?

All Juvederm injectable filler products, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volbella and Juvederm Vollure, are composed of a purified hyaluronic sugar which is biologically identical to the hyaluronic sugar that is naturally present in our skin. Hyaluronic is an essential component of healthy skin and has many benefits to proper skin function including moisture retention and other characteristic associated with optimal and younger skin health.  There are no animal or synthetic products in the Juvederm fillers which explains why adverse or allergic reactions are extremely uncommon when the products are properly administered by a qualified and experienced physician or RN nurse injector.  All injections at evolv Medical Aesthetics are performed by Dr. Barone, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with many years of experience in injectables and a physician instructor, or by Julie David RN, a certified nurse injector trained by Dr. Barone.

Where would I use Vollure or Volbella?

Vollure is indicated for moderate or deep depressions of the nasolabial folds, those creases and depressions of the lateral nasal area and cheek junction that tend to deepen with aging, as well as for improving deeper wrinkles and folds in other facial areas.

Volbella injections are indicated for correction of fine or superficial wrinkles around the lips and for augmentation of the lips to reduce the volume loss often seen with aging, sun exposure and smoking.  One of the significant advantages of Vollure and Volbella is the Vycross technology that extends the benefits of the filler up to 12 or 18 months or more in scientific clinical studies.

How much do Vollure and Volbella cost?

Vollure and Volbella cost approximately $100 more than other Juvederm products and comparable fillers but because of their longer lasting results, they can offer excellent value for patients. The cost will also depend on the number of syringes or the volume needed for proper correction which will be reviewed with each patient after their evaluation and discussion of their aesthetic goals.  Allergan also offers a patient loyalty, Brilliant Distinctions, which can reduce a portion of the costs as well as offer additional offers and incentives earned throughout the year. (Ask how we can help you to get enrolled in this program at your next visit).

The most important factor in choosing the proper and most effective injectable that will provide natural rejuvenation is the experience and training of the injector. Please be sure to do your homework and research the credentials of any professional offering aesthetic services because this is critical to safe and natural appearing outcomes. Also, remember that improving skin health with a personalized and effective professional medical skin care plan can significantly improve the results and longevity of any injectable treatment.
