About this Treatment
Physician Peels
Physician chemical peels in Toledo are non-surgical, skin resurfacing procedures that use a specific medical acid solution to remove the damaged or aged outer layers of the skin and stimulate the growth of new cells.
The body will then generate new skin cells that will replace the removed outer layers resulting in improved and more youthful texture and tone of the skin, a reduction in excess pigmentation and, with some peels, lowering skin cancer risk by removal of cancer prone and sun damaged skin cells. Physician chemical peels require more training and are performed by your plastic surgeon and generally are deeper than aesthetician peels.
What It Is
Aging, sun damage, smoking, and other factors can result in loss of the youthful and healthy features of the skin in addition to increasing sun related skin cancer risk. Despite remarkable advances and improvements in education and medical skin care products and treatment options, previous sun exposure, smoking, and aging can result in significant loss of youthful and healthy skin characteristics as well as an increased risk of skin cancer. Although there are many effective and clinically proven options for reducing previous skin damage and the signs of aging, deeper chemical peeling by an experienced and qualified physician such as Dr. Frank Barone can remove much of the damaged and aged surface and stimulate growth of youthful baby ‘cells’ and improved circulation to rejuvenate a healthy complexion as well as lower skin cancer risk.
