Concern
Rosacea
About
Approximately 16 million Americans suffer from broken blood vessels and excess redness in the face, commonly known as rosacea.
This skin condition is characterized by redness in the nose cheeks and chins, small vessels (telangiectasias) present near the surface of the skin, pustules, irregular texture, compromised skin barrier, and sensitivity to food activity and skin exposure. The good news? You can combat rosacea with our rosacea treatments in Toledo!
Causes
- Can be inherited as well as result from excessive sun exposure, skin damage and inflammatory conditions such as acne.
- Spicy foods, hormonal abnormalities, smoking and some medications can also contribute.
- The result is thinning, atrophy, dehydration and sagging of the skin and deeper tissues as well as loss of elasticity which creates permanent wrinkles and fine lines. Dead and damaged skin cells build up on the surface exaggerating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
