The choice of implant volume and type (either gel or saline) are determined after a complete history and physical exam, anatomic measurements, and a review of your aesthetic goals with our plastic surgeons in Toledo.
At evolv Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics, we offer Vectra® 3-Dimensional Imaging for precise and personalized planning based on your natural anatomy and personal goals.
Dr. Barone and Dr. Koltz also use a unique intraoperative measuring implant and a specific positioning table to determine final implant dimensions during surgery. Using this system, patient satisfaction for breast size and shape post-surgery has been extremely high. Take a look at our breast augmentation gallery to see results from patients who have undergone breast implant surgery.

The amount and duration of discomfort after breast implant surgery is based on several factors:
- Surgical technique
- Implant position (under or over the chest wall muscle)
- Individual anatomic factors
- Intraoperative; long lasting nerve blocks
- Reducing and minimizing post-operative discomfort is a focus and priority for all aesthetic procedures and services at evolv.
Dr. Barone or Dr. Koltz will discuss these factors with you at your consultation and in more depth at your pre-op visit. The use of gentle surgical technique and a new 72-hour injectable pain-blocking medication, Exparel, have dramatically reduced recovery time and improved patient comfort with breast augmentation surgery, as well as many other aesthetic procedures at our practice.

Recovery time is an individual process and is influenced primarily by surgical technique, implant position, and postoperative comfort. In general, if implants are placed under the muscle (submuscular), the recovery time can be slightly longer.
Dr. Koltz and Dr. Barone employ options and advanced techniques to reduce discomfort and downtime, including intraoperative pain blocks with Exparel, naturopathic anti-inflammatory supplements, and lymphatic massage, which are all utilized and can significantly shorten recovery times.
Surgical drains are typically not used in breast augmentation at evolv Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics. A post-operative bra will be provided and worn for several weeks after breast augmentation surgery. Most light activities can be resumed gradually within one week, but some activities will take several weeks to resume. We will make recommendations for you based on your lifestyle and how you are recovering post-operatively. It is important to follow the specific post-operative instructions and recommendations given to you by Dr. Barone or Dr. Koltz to ensure a safe and quick recovery.
