Genius RF Microneedling
Our newest non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure, the Genius utilizes High Intensity Focused radiofrequency plus microneedle technology to deliver energy deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen production. Indicated for aging or sagging skin, it has also proven to be effective to soften acne scarring, improve texture of the skin and can address over-active oil and sweat glands. It is safe to use on all skin types and the Genius can give optimal results with downtime as little as 1-2 days, depending on skin type and treatment setting.
Typically, a minimum of 2-3 treatments is recommended for best results, which will continue to improve over 6 months as collagen rebuilds. A consultation will determine if you are a candidate for the Genius procedure.
Is Genius RF uncomfortable?
These treatments have proven to be better tolerated than other microneedling treatments. This is partly due to the fact that the Genius needle is thinner, smaller, and penetrates the skin more precisely. Also, the treatments can be optimized for age, skin type, tissue thickness, and more. Most of our patients are kept very comfortable with a topical anesthetic that is prescribed for you prior to your treatment. We will work with you to keep you as comfortable as possible during your service. Most patients report pressure with each pass of the hand piece, and tolerance will vary depending on the patient.
Is there downtime with Genius RF?
Initially, redness and swelling are present for the first 24-36 hours. Many patients have pinpoint abrasions from the needles, and skin texture will feel rough and flaky for one or two days after the redness/swelling dissipates. We recommend specific products post-treatment to expedite your healing process and to minimize side effects. Makeup may be worn 24 hours after treatment.
Genius RF Results
Some patients may see changes after recovering from the initial treatment, many report smoother and more even texture of the skin. Collagen continues to rebuild for up to 6 months after the final treatment, and results will continue to improve during this time.
