VASER Liposuction

Liposuction results are typically long-lasting. However, factors such as weight gain, aging, pregnancy, and lifestyle can all affect how well the results are maintained.

Many people seek VASER Liposuction to remove stubborn pockets of fat that are commonly found in the abdomen, thighs, flanks, breasts and arms. Other procedures commonly performed with liposuction may include a tummy tuck, fat transfer, or more commonly, male breast reduction.

VASER Liposuction Candidates

Those who struggle to find relief from pockets of stubborn fat can benefit from VASER liposuction. Candidates for traditional liposuction are typically candidates for VASER liposuction as well. The technique offers a less invasive approach to fat removal that appeals to candidates such as less discomfort and an easier recovery period. Patients may be good candidates for VASER liposuction if:

  • they are concerned about fat deposits in the hips, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, calves, arms, back, or chest that are unresponsive to diet and exercise.
  • they are in good health and relatively near their goal weight.
  • they have good skin elasticity.
  • they are committed to maintaining results with a healthy lifestyle including a well-balanced diet and regular exercise.

VASER Liposuction Procedure

Because VASER liposuction is minimally invasive, it can be performed while awake if the patient chooses. During the procedure, tiny incisions are made to allow for ultrasound energy to be directed at the fat cells. The ultrasound energy destroys the cells, eliminating the need for a device to be used. The cannula is still used to suction fat cells out, removing them for good. The length of treatment will depend on the specific areas being treated.

Dr. Koltz and Dr. Barone employ options and advanced techniques to reduce discomfort and downtime, including, intraoperative pain blocks with Exparel, naturopathic anti-inflammatory supplements, and lymphatic massage are utilized and can significantly shorten recovery times.

VASER Liposuction Recovery

The recovery after VASER liposuction is fairly short, with many patients only needing about 12 hours of rest with a few weeks of activity restrictions. Patients might be asked to wear a compression garment over the treated area to help with the healing process and reduce swelling.

VASER Liposuction Results

Once healed, patients can enjoy the slimming benefits of VASER liposuction with improved contour and overall balance. Results are long lasting with the treated fat cells never returning, however, patients will need to maintain a healthy weight in order to avoid gaining weight in untreated areas, distorting the VASER liposuction results.
