Leah’s Jane Iredale Essentials

Others / April 14, 2015

Patient Care Advisor (and also very TALENTED makeup artist) shares with us her favorite Jane Iredale “must haves”! She does an absolutely stunning job with makeup and would love to share her tips and tricks with you!

Looking at my “must haves” has me feeling high maintenance! There’s a lot here, but the reason these are all on my list is because overall, it’s not too many products to have in your bag if this is all you have, and there’s plenty of looks that can be created from this set of products. Ok, enough rationalizing my makeup addiction…here’s how I’ll use my favorites:

Weekend/NaturalDream Tint comes in several different shades, warm bronze is my favorite, especially for spring since it adds a little color when I’m feeling pale! Dot all around the face & apply with the Blending Brush for best results. Pop a few dots of In Touch Cream Blush on the cheeks. Most people are afraid of Clarity because it’s such a bright pink but looks so pretty on just about anyone. You can also use this on the lips too! Add a little mascara to lashes and now I’m willing to be seen in public.

Everyday – Start with your Dream Tint, then add a layer of PurePressed Base with the Handi Brush. I contour just about every day, so my next step is the Beyond Matte HD Powder in Dark – I don’t love a shimmery bronzer so this is perfect! Just a quick dust at my hairline, under my cheekbones and at my jawline to add some definition. Sometimes I’ll use it on my eyelid crease too (apply with the Crease Brush). I typically use a powder blush on days I’m using my pressed powder – In Love is a nice one for most skin tones (not pictured). To put the finishing touch on your face, spritz with Smell the Roses Hydration Spray, I love the smell of it! For every day, eyes get a quick dust of Cream or Oyster Pure Pressed Shadow with the large Eye Shader Brush, add a line on the top lash line with Black Eye Pencil and a coat of mascara. Lips, I’ll use the gloss side of Compulsion Lip Fixation for every day.

Special Occasion – for a night out or on days you’re feeling like stepping it up a bit, I just add on to my every day routine. I will usually use more PurePressed Base on these days, and layer my powder blush over the In Touch Cream Blush for more color. Eyes of course get smoky – Crushed Ice is my favorite eyeshadow for this! It’s a grayish taupe with a little shimmer and looks good on everyone. I like to use it in my crease and along the lower lash line. Line the top and bottom lash lines with Black Eye Pencil and top with mascara. Lips get a layer of the stain from the Compulsion Lip Fixation, and if I’m feeling really fancy, I’ll layer the gloss on top.

The bottom line with makeup, it’s supposed to be fun! You can use your basics to create lots of looks, so for more tips and tricks that might work for you, stop in to see your makeup artist and we’d be happy to help.
