Topical
A topical anesthetic is used for patient comfort, with the option for oral sedation if required. Additionally, it is important to implement preparatory skin care and increase hydration levels at least two weeks before treatment.

HALO laser in Toledo is a unique and comprehensive skin revitalization treatment. You will see overall improvements in multiple aspects of your skin including a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size and overall skin “glow.” Most patients also experience an improvement of sunspots and hyperpigmentation, a healthier and more youthful complexion, and a reduction in precancerous skin lesions (actinic keratosis).
Skin type and conditions can vary widely so number of treatments will depend upon the quality of your skin as well as your desired cosmetic goals. You can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments or have multiple more conservative treatments and achieve a similar goal over a longer period. Your provider will review these options with your during your evaluation.
With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients tolerate the treatment very well. Patients describe the treatment as a sensation of heat with occasional prickling sensations. At EVOLV, we also offer Frozen C cryotherapy and Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide system for improved comfort during treatments. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 1-2 hours and possibly longer for those undergoing more aggressive treatments.
For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected according to your provider’s instructions, but after that you should be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, you will be able to put on makeup. At EVOLV, we recommend using a professional mineral-based makeup such as Jane Iredale. The day of your treatment you may experience redness, and your skin will feel warm and appear swollen. After two to three days, you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your rejuvenated and revitalized complexion.
You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo™ treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest skin improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months.
Longevity of results following Halo™ laser treatment, as with any aesthetic treatment at EVOLV, will depend upon preparation, treatment parameters, and most of all, post treatment skin care and lifestyle. Specific skin care preparations as well as post treatment regimens will be recommended. It is particularly important to consistently use a medical grade broad spectrum sunscreen daily after treatment to protect your healing and more youthful skin.
