What It Is

Lutronic Spectra offers the best-in-class technology to efficiently treat unwanted tattoos of all colors by using 4 different wavelengths including the 532 nm (orange/red), the 585 nm (blue/purple), the 650 nm (green/yellow), and the 1064 nm (black). Lutronic Spectra Laser treatments work by targeting the ink particles in the skin with highly concentrated energy light waves that quickly heat up the ink particles causing them to fragment into smaller particles that can be cleared by the body’s lymphatic system. Compared to other tattoo removal systems in Toledo, the Lutronic Spectra offers a more efficient, comfortable, safe treatment for the removal of a wide range of pigmented tattoos with fewer treatments and less chance of complications.

What It Treats

  • All Tattoos Including Varying Colors, Types (professional or amateur), and Ages (old & new)
  • Tattoos Located on Most Areas of the Body. Eligibility for Treatment Can Be Determined with a Consult with One of Our Expert Clinicians

Benefits

  • Comfortable Treatments Lutronic Spectra’s Q-switch has a very short pulse duration (nanoseconds) allowing for greater energy levels to the treated area and less diffusion of the energy to the surrounding tissue allowing for a safe, comfortable, efficacious treatment and reduce risk of side effects.
  • Minimal Downtime Post treatment includes a temporary frosting appearance, swelling, redness, and tenderness to the tattoo site with resolution of these symptoms within a few days. Blistering and scabbing is possible and likely within the first 24 hours and usually heals within 5-7 days.
  • Customizable for All Skin Types and Ink Colors Lutronic Spectra has 4 different wavelengths that allows for clinicians to customize the treatment for various ink colors and skin types while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and efficacy.

How Tattoo Removal Works

Step 01.

During the consultation, EVOLV’s expert clinicians will take the time to listen to your desired aesthetic goals and create a customizable treatment plan just for you. All risks, benefits, limitations, potential complications, and alternative therapies will be reviewed. Photos will be taken, and we will answer all questions. Additionally, a thorough review of the treatment process, an estimation of required sessions, and a quote will be provided. Test spots may be completed if needed and topical numbing agent should be purchased at this time.

Step 02.

Topical anesthetic preferably should be 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to the procedure. Alternative anesthetic therapies and/or comfort measures such as the Zimmer Chiller, Frozen C, and ProNox are also available for use if warranted. Appropriate eyewear is given. We cleanse the treatment site with alcohol and shave hair if needed. Test spots are completed, and we choose treatment settings based on desired clinical endpoints, tolerability, and patient skin type. The clinician will then use The Lutronic Spectra to deliver highly concentrated wavelengths that heat up the tattoo pigment and shatter it into tiny pieces to be absorbed by your lymphatic system over the next few weeks. The tattoo will look temporarily frosted or lightened and will eventually return to baseline and slowly fade over time.

Step 03.

Post procedure instructions are very similar to post procedure instructions when you first get a new tattoo. The tattoo is considered an open wound until fully healed and should be treated as such by cleansing, NOT SCRUBBING the site with a gentle cleanser or antiseptic soap 2-3 times per day, placing Bacitracin ointment every morning and night to the treated area, and covering the site with a sterile non-adherent bandage such as Telfa until all scabbed areas have fallen off naturally. Tattoos treated below the knee or elbow should be elevated for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Avoid contact with water until the following day of treatment. Refrain from soaking the area in water for an extended period (i.e. baths, hot tub, pool), pressure from tight clothes, and contact sports or excessive sweating until all scabs have fallen off and treatment site is completely healed. Do not pick or scrub scabs/blisters as this may cause scarring. Once the crust has fallen off, immediately start to use sunblock (UVA/UVB, SPF > 30 and PA ++ (moderate UV protection)). It is extremely important to avoid direct UV exposure for 2-3 months post treatment as the treated area is more susceptible to sun damage and can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Additionally, there are a few key things that can be done to ramp up your immune system and ensure faster results such as drinking lots of water, decreasing alcohol consumption, decreasing or quitting smoking, and exercise (after fully healed)!
